A New House Build in Killiney, County Dublin.
Some exclusive details from our exciting new build in Killiney, County Dublin!
Our clients engaged us to prepare a new energy efficient, contemporary design to suit their specific requirements and which would relate to the beautiful hillside setting of Killiney with its varied styles and sizes of houses.
Indeed, when first visiting the site we were struck by the range of houses in the vicinity (from traditional to contemporary) which perfectly cohabit due to their common bond of beautiful gardens, dense hedging and trees, and stone walls alongside the quiet narrow road. We intend retaining the heavily planted ambience of the boundaries and supplementing with tall growing trees strategically placed. The proposed terraces and balconies are positioned to avail of sunlight and overlook the garden below.
Materials proposed for the house are random natural stone facing on the main element of the Front Elevation, contrasting smooth finish reconstituted stone blocks to all other walls (see accompanying images), zinc low pitched roof, asphalt flat roofs accommodating solar photovoltaic panels and aluclad timber windows.
Rainwater is to be collected and discharged to a rainwater harvesting tank.
It is hoped to use some inert demolition material as well as excavated material to level part of the lower garden to minimise removal to waste disposal sites.
Finally, we with our clients have spent considerable time to ensure that the proposed development with good quality materials and finishes would make a positive impact in this Architectural Conservation Area.
